About Us

Tamahar is a non-profit, started in 2009 by Mrs Vaishali Pai, to work with children suffering from developmental delays due to brain damage, between the age group of 0 to 21 years old, who come from all socio-economic backgrounds; through the medium of holistic developmental intervention (combination of early intervention, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiotherapy, Music Therapy, yoga therapy), arts, dance, sports and basic education. Currently we are working with about 60 children in Bangalore.

The focus has been on working for children with special needs (which includes a wide gamut of issues related to brain damage - Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Genetic Disorders such as Rett Syndrome, Lysosomal Storage Disorders and many more), using an array of validated developmental interventions. Tamahar also works on supporting the families, giving them hands on experience to work with their children. In addition, Tamahar carries out awareness programs and shares knowledge about different disabilities.
